Jacob Steinfeld: Connor McDavid may be the greatest hockey player of all time. McDangles's speed, touch, and hockey sense are unparalleled in todays game. Despite his lanky frame, his stride is powerful and smooth, and his mitts require a descriptor in a tier above "silky." The puck sticks to him and disappears through defenseman like its Spy Kids 3D. Sure, Matthews and Eichel have more dominating statures, and are certainly talented themselves, but they don't dominate the ice quite like Connor. Eichel's got a howitzer of a shot and Matthews hasn't lost a 1v1 since he was in Mites, but McDavid's release and skating are downright criminal. Lock this kid up.
Peter Rosston: All three of these guys are incredible hockey players, but Connor McJesus is the guy I'd pick if I were starting a team. In only 45 games last season, McDavid racked up 48 points, only eight fewer than Eichel who had 24 goals and 32 assists for a total of 56 points. 4uston Matthews scored four goals in his first game, but has cooled off since then with "only" two in his next eight games. While you can't go wrong with any of the three, McDavid is simply a cut above the others. Even Wayne Gretzky, albeit slightly biased, said that McDavid was already more skilled than Sidney Crosby. I'll trust his word.
