World Series Push for all playoff teams
Tyler Brandt went through each MLB playoff team in 2015 and analyzed how they should have gone about the offseason in order to make a run at the World Series in 2016. Tyler compared each team's total WAR and the contributions those teams received from their top players to the numbers from past World Series teams and tried to find a way to turn each playoff team into a World Series caliber team. Here are all of Tyler's articles that show what he believes to be the best free agency fits and trade partners for each team:

Wash U Sports Analytics Collaborates on Article for Forbes
In July 2015, five members of Wash U Sports Analytics (Robbie Steirn, Jake Price, Grant Goldman, Evan Garden and Lucas Schmidt) had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Patrick Rishe, Director of the Sports Business Program at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Rishe wrote an article for Forbes on a potential expansion of the NHL and asked us to conduct the quantitative analysis. In this project, we gathered a vast amount of data, conducted a statistical analysis utilizing linear regression and determined the best cities in which to locate a new NHL team. Ultimately, we found that locating a second team in Toronto (sorry Maple Leafs fans) would net the owners the greatest amount of revenue over the long run. This is despite the fact that most current rumors revolve around new teams in Quebec City and Las Vegas. But hey, the numbers don't lie. Dr. Rishe's entire article can be found on Forbes by clicking here (our contributions start on page 3). The paper with our findings is located below (nhl_paper.docx), as is the compilation of our data and the model we developed from our regression.
