WU STATS Analysts (Juan Espinosa, Michael Aronson and Robbie Steirn) researched the correlation between the management practices of Ecuadorian soccer clubs and team success on the field in 2013 and 2014. To perform the study, we accumulated data to evaluate several factors controlled by a soccer club's management including team infrastructure, youth development programs, on-time payment to players, transfers to Europe, fan engagement and the leadership behind the board of directors. We performed a hypothesis test using the simple linear regression model for a small sample. The STATS Analysts concluded that there is a strong positive linear relationship between our ranking system and team rankings in 2013 and 2014 for Ecuadorian soccer clubs.
